IT HAS BEEN A HOT MINUTE SINCE I HAVE WRITTEN. It's unusual for me to write on a Friday. Well, I have been dying.
No. Not like that.
I am taking summer classes, working 2 jobs, running a business, learning how to cook (so I do not eat at Canes everyday), and something new and exciting has happened: I am the Miss Teen of Arizona 2018!
I am not going to lie, I have pranced around my house all week with my crown on. Woo-hoo!
Today's happy hour story is about the first time I have competed in a pageant. Believe, it gets interesting.
First off, I need to describe the types of girls I have seen at the previous pageant I was in: you have those girls who have been in the same system since they were 4 years old, then you have the ones that are there because their mom made them, there are the newbies who have no idea what is going on (me), and then the girls who are totally laid back and roll with the punches (also me).
Some girls are there to compete and get super serious, others are there to make friends, some are there to have an addition to their resume, and I knew one girl who was there to boost her popularity in hopes of getting a boyfriend.
But then, you have pageant moms.
Those women can be the sweetest most helpful ladies you will meet or they can be your arch enemy if you mess with them or their daughter.
I was prepping for the talent portion and girls get serious when it comes to talent. Intense dancing, baton twirling, singing along to "If I ain't got you", and what not.
This lady was screaming in the dressing room at her daughter who was not singing strong enough. Another mom was yelling at her daughter because she brought the wrong sticky boobies.
There you have it, do not mess with pageant moms.
That is it for this weeks happy hour story! Until next week!
